Michael is President and Chief Executive Officer of Consolidated Risk Management, an insurance/risk management consulting
firm. He began his career in 1978 at Garson-Blau, Inc., a family owned Insurance Agency. In 1983 Michael became a
Vice President, and in 1985 an owner. The agency merged in 1988 with Republic Hogg Robinson, an International
Insurance Brokerage firm.
Michael worked at Republic Hogg Robinson for three years before associating with Consolidated Risk Management in 1991.
Michael attended Bradley University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1978. In 1985 Michael received
the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCU) designation and in 1993 attained his Associate of Risk Management
(ARM) designation.
Michael is Chairman of the Board of Entrepreneurship Preparatory School and serves as Chairman of the Advisory Board of
the Civic Innovation Lab. He serves on the boards of The American Jewish Committee, and The Society of Risk Management
Consultants, and on the Advisory Board of the Entrepreneurs Edge and the Leadership Council of The University Hospitals
Neurological Institute.
Michael is a past Chairman of the Board of Council of Smaller Enterprises (COSE) and Group Services, Inc.
Michael has been recognized with the following honors:
- Outstanding Young Men of America - 1986
- Max Freedman Young Leadership Award (American Jewish Committee) - 1991
- Crains Cleveland Business influential "40 under 40" Business Leaders - 1993
- Entrepreneurial Leadership Award by Cleveland State University and The Rotary Club of Greater Cleveland - 2000
Michael has spoken to numerous associations and professional groups on the subjects of insurance and risk management.
Michael and his wife Susan live in Shaker Heights, Ohio with their sons Ryan and Andrew.
